The metaverse: the new investment fever

how-to-invest-in-the-metaverse

The metaverse has become a desired target for investors.

The potential of the Metaverse we cannot know yet. Do you remember what the internet was like in its early days? Few knew him and almost no one believed in him, but for those who trusted him, he turned out to be a gold mine. Currently this seems to happen with the metaverses, that’s why we tell you about the potential of investing in Metaverse startups.

The Metaverse is an idea explored by science fiction writers, to think of a parallel universe to the physical one, where our mind and information is the main thing. Does it seem out of this reality? Well, it really is, but the first step was taken by Mark Zuckerberg when he changed the name of Facebook to Meta, this was not just a name change, but a change in the company’s objectives, towards promoting electronic commerce in the Metaverse.

One clue to the potential of metaverses is the growth of open universe video games such as Roblox and Fortnite, which offer virtual reality worlds that are used by users through avatars. In addition, there are other virtual reality platforms such as Decentraland, Upland and Sandbox.

The metaverses are today what the dot com pages represented in 1990, Fornite for example, raised a billion dollars, having large investors such as Sony, who invested 200 million. Epic Games, the creators of Fornite could be placed next to giants like Facebook, Amazon and Google.

We already talked about the big ones, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t set your sights on startups. The logical entry key to investment in metaverses are cryptocurrencies, which are used by virtual environments as a means of payment. For example, in virtual worlds such as Decentraland and Sandbox, virtual businesses can be created to be monetized.

Another option is to invest in those metaverses that are already listed on the stock exchange, Metaverse ETFs work like stock markets, unlike investments made using cryptocurrencies.

The Metaverse ETFs are listed at 74 billion dollars in which 41 companies participate, including digital infrastructure companies such as Nvidia and Cloudflare and game engines such as Roblox.

However, to invest under the uncial stage cryptocurrency system, you should seek horizons beyond the ETF, since it is controlled by the New York Stock Exchange, which limits participation to public companies.

The opportunity to participate in metaverses before public companies is to invest when hardware companies and gaming companies launch initial coin offerings and initial token sales.

Obviously the obvious initial investment is in the technology sectors, with hardware and software development being the most profitable. But there is also the sector of advertising and electronic commerce, which could be worth more than 1 billion dollars.
